How to recover blackened silver quickly and naturally

Ingredients :

  • Sodium bicarbonate
  • Hot water
  • Foil
  • Sal
  • White vinegar
  • soft cloth

Instructions :

  1. Line a bowl with aluminum foil, making sure the shiny side is up.
  2. Place the blackened silver objects inside the container.
  3. Sprinkle baking soda liberally over silver items.
  4. Boil enough water and pour it over the silver objects until they are completely submerged.
  5. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the hot water and gently stir to dissolve.
  6. Pour 1/2 cup of white vinegar over the silverware in the container.
  7. You will observe an effervescence and release of gases. This is normal and means the reaction is occurring.
  8. Let the silver items soak in the solution for a few minutes.
  9. Remove silver items from the solution and rinse them under warm water to remove any residue.
  10. Dry them carefully with a soft cloth until they are completely dry and shiny.
